Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. At its heart is the chaotic Old Quarter, where the narrow streets are roughly arranged by trade. There are many little temples, including Bach Ma, honoring a legendary horse, plus Đồng Xuân Market, selling household goods and street food Upon arrival, welcome by the local guide at Hanoi airport, transfer and check-in at the hotel. Note: Rooms are available from 2pm. In the afternoon, a traditional foot massage can eliminate travel fatigue and revitalize the body by stimulating certain area on the soles of the foot. Overnight in Hanoi. Depart early in the morning to a small pagoda located on the West Lake for a Tai Chi private lesson. This ancient art balance the internal energy while strengthening the body and its natural defenses. Then, return back to the hotel for a delicious breakfast. Then a final round by Vespa to reach the clinic of a traditional doctor, who will explain the basic principles of Vietnamese medicine and will conduct a quick medical check for all the visitors interested in its internal balance Yin Yang. Then, return back to the hotel by Vespa for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to relax at the hotel or to begin a personal discovery of the capital. We suggest a walking tour to the Ngoc Son Temple, located on Hoan Kiem Lake, which can be reached by a charming wooden bridge. Overnight in Hanoi. Note: In accordance with the Vietnamese law, Vespa trips are accompanied by a local driver After breakfast, depart by road to Ha Thai village, specialized in the production of lacquers, and the village of Van Phuc, specialized in the production of natural silk. Transfer and check-in at the hotel. Note: Rooms are available from 2pm. In the afternoon, time is at leisure to soak up in the the atmosphere of the city. The sidewalks are full of small stalls offering varied local specialties such as “Bun Cha” (grilled meat accompanied with rice noodles), “Bun Cha Ca” (Fish paste noodle) or the traditional “Pho” (a delicious Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth, rice noodles, a few herbs, and has gained a good reputation in the city). Transfer to a local restaurant to taste the typical dishes from the North of Vietnam. Overnight in Hanoi. After breakfast, depart to a local market in the company of a chef or In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature. Then, enjoy a rickshaw tour of the capital and spend some time wandering in the old quarter, including the famous silk street. Stop to taste sugar cane juice that is easily found in the neighbourhood. Finally visit Ngoc Son Temple, built in the 19th century and beautifully situated on a little island in the northern part of Hoan Kiem Lake. Overnight in Hanoi. At the hotel, we suggest to start the day with the traditional “Pho”, a delicious soup noodles that has made the reputation of the city. After breakfast, discover Hanoi including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Mondays and Fridays), his former residence, the one-Pillar Pagoda and Tran Quoc Pagoda. Then, depart to the Museum of Ethnology (closed on Monday) which focuses on the recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam. Time is at leisure to wander in the capital city. The day ends with a water puppet show. In the evening, dinner is at “La Verticale” restaurant. In an old converted colonial house, the chef suggests a fine-dining experience blending the best of French and Vietnamese cuisine. Overnight in Hanoi. The morning will be devoted to a tour by Vespa. The tour goes through the districts where the old colonial buildings are still retained. The Vespa takes you to the 36 corporations and particularly in Lan Ong Street, dedicated to the Eastern pharmacopeia. Visit a herbalist bringing together many of the Vietnamese pharmacopoeia.Day 03: Hanoi: Nature Walk in the Capital’s Surrounding & Relaxation (B/L)
Later, transfer to Duong Lam. Upon arrival, discover Mong Phu village (opportunity to borrow a bike) and its ancient houses made of laterite and mud. Most of the village architecture has retained its original state such as the village gate, the communal well and the temple courtyard.
It is nice to walk around, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of its streets and meet the villagers. Thereafter, continue to the Master Pagoda (Chua Thay). Drive back to Hanoi.
By late afternoon transfer to one of the best Spa in the city for a massage (approximately 90 minutes). A body and a relaxed mind help to continue the journey with confidence.
